Hi Everyone! Welcome to my page and blog, Cosmopolitan Closets! I just wanted to share a little bit about myself so that you can have a better idea of why I love organizing and how I got started. First and foremost, I love fashion! Like love fashion and more importantly, I love accessories! Now, I am sure you are wondering what this has to do with organizing, right? Its pretty simple to me, actually, so let me explain.
When I was younger, I organized for my parents and for my aunt, especially my aunt. I am not sure why, maybe its my OCD, Type A personality, but organizing came so easily to me and it was something I enjoyed doing. With that being said, let’s fast forward to post college when I moved to NYC, as this was the time that I was able to marry my love for fashion with my love for organizing. When I started out in NYC 10 years ago, I lived in the typical 5th-floor walk up in Harlem, with 1 closet in the whole apartment. It was at this point I realized how to maximize small spaces to accommodate my ever growing accessory collection and wardrobe (because obviously I came to New York so that I could shop lol, not really, but in my mind I did).
From that point on, I have found unique and cost-effective ways to organize small spaces, as well as tackling bigger projects with all the bells and whistles attached. As I changed apartments and continued to tackle organizing in my own space, my friends started asking me to help them and then their friends and then their boyfriends and so on and so forth and I started organizing more and more.
This blog is a reflection of a lot of those organizing efforts, DIYs (and crafts), my take on interior design, my love for pretty accessories, as well as some basic gardening tips! I also plan to incorporate my love for making soup and other dishes on here as well! I find inspiration for organizing everywhere and I hope that you find some here. What I’ve realized over the past few years is that I want this blog to be a place where I can share what inspires me in hopes of inspiring you! And while organizing is my main squeeze, my interests are so multi-faceted, so you will see a reflection of them here 🙂
Feel free to drop me a line or comment/share on a post and follow along with me on this journey! As always, thanks for your support.
