Hi Everyone! I know its been awhile since my last post, I’m sorry! I have been so busy with my day job, I have barely had to time to blog. Nonetheless, I am back on it and I am so excited to share one of my closet makeovers with you! I mean, I live for these and I hope you do too!
So as a side business, I organize people’s spaces, trying to maximize the space they have while creating an aesthetically pleasing dressing experience. This particular client is a friend of mine, lives in the city and has a great space that was packed with tons of clothes and accessories. When she asked me to help her reorganize her closet and room, I jumped at the opportunity. The first thing I always ask clients is how much they are willing to spend on supplies for their space? Once they decide on the budget, I recommend items that are critical for maximizing and organizing their space. In this case, my client set a budget of $200. In total, she bought all new slim hangers (200 in total), 5 metal tiered skirt/pant hangers, 2 shoes racks and 2 packs of shelf dividers. She also bought a few makeup organizers for her dresser to help make her morning routine easier. In addition, she emphasized wanting to repurpose baskets and drawers that she already had, in order to save money and not throw everything away.
After 12 hours of organizing and $250 (we needed some extra hangers) spent on supplies, I was able to totally reorganize her closet and dressers, switch her summer and winter clothes and help her purge items that were taking up too much room and not being worn (she donated them to salvation army!).
Take a look at the before and after pictures below and let me know what you think! Do you need help organizing? If so, leave me a message, I am sure that I can come up with some amazing solutions or even come to organize for you!!!
BEFORE: So this a picture of my client’s closet before I did any work. She had tons of shoe boxes, clothes and everything else in between jammed into her closet. For NYC, she has a large closet so I knew that, if organized the right way, she would be able to fit all of her key items and more!
When I organize, I remove everything and I mean everything, from the space! This is a picture of all the items heaped onto her bed with more stuff on the floor. As you can see, she was using mismatched plastic hangers, which take up a ton of space and prevented the closet from looking uniform.
AFTER: This is the result after 12 hours of organizing and let me tell you, that was a lot of work! To give you a better sense of what the closet now holds, check out these stats below!
