Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you are all recovered from Superbowl Sunday π Personally, I did not watch, but instead watched a movie and organized my hair drawer. I mean, honestly, what else did you expect?! LOL.
Ok, so I know I am not the only one who has a plethora of products and tools in order to style my hair. However, I have been trying to figure out an easy way to organize all the various bobby pins, combs, brushes, clips and more. What I realized is, though, that I needed a uniform system to keep these items organized in the drawer. As always, I looked for something pretty cost effective and easy to do. I decided that some sort of clear makeup bag could do the trick, that way I could see what’s inside each bag and also stack them inside the drawer.
There are tons of ways to organize your hair tools; shoe boxes, plastic totes, over the door hangers, etc., so find a system that works for your space. Since I don’t have a linen closet, I use one drawers in my hallway cube system to store all my products and tools. Stay tuned for part two of this guide on what to do with all those hair products (I am definitely a product junkie). Check out my pics below for some inspiration and as always, thanks for reading.
BEFORE: I am ashamed to admit it, but all this stuff was crammed into one drawer smh lol.
1st attempt: So I found these little bags on Amazon (you can find them here) for $7.50, but once I got them, I didn’t really like them for some reason. I have a different idea for them, so I went back to the drawing board.
2nd attempt: I looked online again and found these clear vinyl makeup bags that were exactly what I was looking for, so I ordered 3 sets of 2. I used my label maker to make tags and separated everything into the various bags. You can find them here.
I also found this vinyl “train case” for my permrods. You can find it here.
More permrods, I know I am not the only one with all the different sizes!
Flexirods and satin rollers both fit in large ziplock bags. I may order the vinyl bags to put these in, but for now, this works.
These plastic totes are perfect for blowdryers, curling wands and flatirons. The other tote has my hair ribbons, hair scarves and ties.
AFTER: All the cases fit in the drawer perfectly. Easy to just grab the one I need and pull it out.
These cubes are a lifesaver! There are a few drawers dedicated to the plethora of products I use for primping! Stay tuned for the 2nd part in this series.
My signature flat twist-out! I love this style and by having all my products and tools organized, it keeps prep time to a minimum π
