Happy Sunday everyone! I am so looking forward to warmer weather, so to get a jumpstart on my annual spring cleaning and organizing, I decided to update our little bathroom in order to create a bit more storage space. If you didn’t see it, check out my previous post here, where I talked about making some small changes to our bathroom in order to add some additional storage since we don’t have a linen closet.
Well, since then, I decided that it was time to replace our over-the-toilet rack. The one we had was old, metal and open. While it still looked fine, the open metal style had some drawbacks; it displays everything you put on there and is not the sturdiest. Since I originally purchased a cabinet from the Summit Collection from Bed, Bath and Beyond, I decided to see what other pieces they had in order to keep it consistent. Check out what I decided upon below and as always, thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
Here is our new stand. You can find at Bed, Bath and Beyond. The one we had before was the metal version without an enclosed cabinet. I prefer to have all the toiletries behind closed doors! I also like that the top is flat and can be used for storage. Here all my glass canisters that have daily use items like cotton balls and qtips. You can find the cabinets here.
As you can see, the cabinet has two movable shelves that I have maximized for storage. Since we don’t have a linen closet, I had to think of ways to store all of our toiletries. These cube storage trays from Target are perfect for that. You can find them here. |
The exposed shelf is perfect for decorative items like candles and oil pots. These keep the bathroom smelling fresh 🙂 I found this DW Home candle at Homegoods of course!
Still can’t go wrong with this pedestal sink organizer. I featured this in a previous post, you can read it here. Here is the original cabinet we bought to fit into this slim space near the shower. I linked my previous post above. I purchased these baskets from Walmart for $8 each. The inside of the cabinet has 3 shelves that have all your typical medicine cabinet items like prescriptions. Along with not having a linen closet, the bathroom mirror is just that, a mirror with no cabinet. We are still using this metal rack to store towels. I have been looking for other cabinets that could fit in the corner, but for now this works. This shelf and the basket which has washcloths rolled up inside, was originally purchased at Target. These modular cosmetic organizers are great. They can be rearranged on or off the tray any way you like. I think they are extremely useful for items like soap, razors, travel size toiletries, and nail clippers. Trust me- I know it looks like a lot, you should see how much I threw away! This clear acrylic organizer also came from target. In here I stored alcohol pads, witch hazel pads, hand sanitizer, nail clippers, and eyedrops. I like that these small items are easy to find and easy to see.
