Hello hello! I hope you are all doing well. The weather is improving and its the perfect time for spring cleaning. This isn’t a cleaning post though, lol, I am not a cleaning enthusiast. I am, however, an organizing one and I want to share how I organized our other pantry! If you didn’t catch my first post, please check it out here, I have a lot of tips and ideas! When we got our first pantry done, we also got this one done, because why not?! In all seriousness though, there were only two wire shelves and I knew the space could be better utilized. I worked with the designer from Closets to Adore in order to come up with the right design for the space. I knew having wide, deep shelves would do the trick and that’s exactly what got installed. I shared our installation experience in my previous post linked above, so feel free to read about it there.
My vision for this pantry was to have, exactly as the title states, a place for pots! I really hate bending over in low cabinets and lifting heavy pots and pans. I knew that not only did we need a space for our pots and pans, but also a space for all of our small kitchen appliances. I absolutely love the byDash mini waffle makers and needed a place to store them that was easily accessible. I also picked out the most beautiful wallpaper, purchased from Spoonflower again, to go on the back wall so it would peek through the shelves. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong amount again and Mr. G came up with a clever solution by using the sample paper I ordered. Phew, crisis averted! lol.
Anyway, before checking out the pics below, let me leave you with a few helpful tips. When organizing a pantry for pots, pans and appliances, there are a few key things needed. For starters, I lined the shelves with this clear shelf liner (also in my Amazon store). It doesn’t have adhesive, but stays in place – this prevents heavy pans from scratching the shelves. In addition to the shelf lines, I tied up every appliance cord with these cord ties. I hate seeing cords everywhere, so wrapping them up is a must! Next, I purchased these Le Creuset pot protectors. I think its pretty obvious, but when you stack pots inside each other, they can get scratched so these are great. Last but not least are these clear bins by iDesign. They are perfect for small appliances, baking tools, and other miscellaneous kitchen gadgets that need to be stored. I love that they have lids and come in different sizes.
Coming up, I will be sharing how I use this pantry door for additional storage and our entryway closet. If you aren’t already, please follow me on IG and Pinterest and subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss a post! Thanks for reading 🙂
